| Thatsmyson Scores at 10-1 at Flamboro |
|
March 21, 2007 - Thatsmyson finally found the winner's circle tonight with a perfect pocket trip at Flamboro Downs in their $15,000 to $18,000 claiming event. This was Thatsmyson's first win of the year in eleven attempts to have his picture taken. Leaving from post two, driver Kenny Oliver secured early pocket position around the first turn leaving Cams Emerson parked out on the outside. With Nearly Away on the front end not wanting to relinquish the lead, Cams Emerson had to be taken back to third and was able to secure a spot on the rail. As they reached the first quarter in a quick 27:1 Thatsmyson looked comfortable and looked to be going easily. As they rolled to the half in :58 seconds, Cams Emerson tipped back to the outside and the heavy 1-2 favorite, Mr Cadillac, followed behind him. As they hit three-qaurters in 1:27:2, Cams Emerson began to fade which forced Mr Cadillac three-wide while Thatsmyson sat head-to-helmet behind Nearly Away throughout. As they rounded the final turn Mr Cadillac came calling on the outside to challenge for the lead while Kenny Oliver sat patiently waiting for the stretch passing lane. As they hit paydirt, both leaders were worn and Oliver moved Thatsmyson to the inside passing lane, cracked the whip, and Thatsmyson drew off to score at 10-1 odds. The five year old gelded son of Chill Factor took down a purse of $4,150 and has bankrolled $10,320 so far in 2007. |
