Another Day is Strong at Woodbine

February 18, 2007 - After some mediocre starts earlier in the year, Another Day has bounced back when finishing a good second at Woodbine where she has done most of her damage recently.  Although not yet showing a win this year, this start showed she is back on her game.

Driver Michael Saftic took her back at the start and wound up getting away second from the back into a first quarter of 28:3 as the favorite, Sexy Kim, grabbed the lead from the outside post.  With the short field, the backfield was reluctant to move and Sexy Kim was putting the field to sleep, posting a 29:4 second quarter and having things her own way.  As they headed to three quarters, Saftic had to make a choice of whether to pull her to the ousdie or sit in.  He chose to sit in and that got her locked on the inside as the Whitesand Nurse, sitting last, began the outside flow.  As they headed into the stretch, with a three quarter time of 1:27, Another Day was asked to follow Whitesand Nurse and then quickly tipped three wide as Saftic tried to motiviate her to go on.  She closed ground, but the wire came up and could only manage the runner-up spot.

The five year old daughter of Artiscape secured a terrific pay day of $4,250 and has now bankrolled $60,809 so far in 2006-2007.
